Let's talk about Lake Leelanau Campgrounds today. Probably you might already know, this is an upscale camping facility located on the beaches of Lake Leelanau RV Park, a 21-mile-long inland lake in Michigan.
You can find it in the traverse city of Michigan's gorgeous and desirable Leelanau Peninsula, it has a long history of being the cleanest, friendliest, most contemporary, and best park in the area, dating back over 45 years.
It is facilitated 196 sites with full hookups and big rigs, including 20, 30, and 50-amp electricity, water, sewer, cable TV, as well as wireless internet. A Brief History of Lake Leelanau
Teter's Little Finger Beach was the original name for Lake Leelanau RV Park. Ray and Florence Teter founded it in the 1960s. An old barn once stood at the entrance to where our fountain now stands for campsite reservations.
There were small aluminum row boats for rent, an aluminum boathouse, docks by the Glen Arbor, and a beautiful sandy beach. Don and Marilyn Wilson, long-time campers and tourists to the Leelanau Peninsula bought the campsite from the Teter family in 1976, and their first summer there was in 1977.
Their park's name was changed to Little Finger Beach Travel Park, where they left their city life in Utica, Michigan, and relocated with their children to the park on Lake Leelanau by Leelanau County to start a new life as campground proprietors. Don had previously worked as a field engineer at NCR (National Cash Register).
Marilyn worked as a registered nurse in Northport, Michigan, for many years while also managing the office, business, and house until the campground was fully established.

Campgrounds at Lake Leelanau
The campground included only basic, grass-covered campsites and dirt pathways, some fire pits filled just by the 5th wheel with cement pads.
On the park's south side, there was a peanut plantation, a vast garden, and a community camper's garden. Four resorts are set at a perfect spot, just a short walk from the tart trail.

3. Leelanau Pines Campground
This family-friendly campground is situated on the beautiful shores of Lake Leelanau off the Leelanau peninsula. Easy access to the small towns by the Wild Cherry resort, a travel trailer filled with a cable TV, a dog park, a dump station, a spacious picnic area, and modern restrooms with a flush toilet.

4. Barnes Park Campground
Barnes Park Campground in Antrim County has some of the best camping in Northern Michigan. One can describe this resort as a quiet campground, the best park with a main content skip, serving an ideal for rustic camping.
The park on Grand Traverse Bay has wide woodland campsites, a mini-cabin, some boat rentals, and great views from the Leelanau Pines. Its welcoming, safe setting makes it a good idea for a family holiday or a peaceful getaway on a rustic campground.
It is loaded with full hookups like a camp store, rustic sites, a sandy beach, and some fire rings by the long lake not far from the shores of Lake Leelanau. Also, there are motorized Fishing Boats, a pontoon vessel, some kayaks, canoes, Sea-Doo personal watercraft, paddleboards, and dock rentals available, making it the best park and one of the best campgrounds.
3. Lake Leelanau Lodge
For special gatherings, there’s a lodge with pull thrus, a cutting-edge surround sound system for movies, and a microphone for meetings. A great place for visitors, it also has access to horseshoes, a Ping Pong Table, pickleball courts, tennis courts, and basketball and shuffleboard courts.
Also, in the center of the resort, the main navigation leads up the straits of Mackinac just by the beautiful Lake Leelanau, a great outdoor area for road trips. There’s a great way one can unwind via the game room, the swimming beach, or the cherry orchards.
