1. Prince Gallitzin State Park
Glendale Lake, a popular boating location, and a sizable campground with 437 campsites may be found in Prince Gallitzin State Park, which bears the name of a Russian nobleman who converted to Catholicism and founded the nearby town of Loretto.
Every site has Wi-Fi, a swimming beach, showers, and many have hookups. Pets are only allowed at specific campgrounds, and there are also camping cottages available.
A 398-site campsite for tents and trailers is open from the second Friday in April to the last Monday in October. Ten cottages and five cabins are available for renting year-round.
Electric hookups are available at several sites. There are some sites with complete service hookup, meaning that electricity, wash house, water, and sewage hook-ups are included.
The Crooked Run Campground offers a variety of amenities and services, such as a camp store with coin-operated laundry, a swimming beach, a boat mooring area, boat rentals, playgrounds, paved sites, showers, flush toilets, sanitary dump stations, and Wi-Fi.

2. Orchard Station Campground
All campers and RVers visiting the Central Pennsylvania region will find our campground to be in an excellent location.
Situated on the outskirts of Altoona, Pennsylvania, we are only a short drive from Johnstown and State College, Pennsylvania. Our handy location is at Exit 31 (Plank Road), which is immediately off of Interstate 99.
Since opening for business in August 1996, Wright's Orchard Station Campground has measured success by obtaining the highest degree of client satisfaction imaginable.
The park offers sites to suit a range of RV kinds and sizes, with both open and covered spaces surrounded by trees.
The entire thing had a railroad motif, which honors Altoona's railroad history and that of the former Pennsylvania Railroad.
RVs can be parked along Broadway Limited Lane (named after a passenger train on the PRR) or tents can be set up at Kittanning Point (named after a railroad crossing near the Horseshoe Curve).
3. Breezy Hill Campground
Breezy Hill Campground is a great and perfect place to set up shop because it's close to both the large Glendale Lake, which has a 26-mile shoreline, and Prince Gallitzin State Park, which is Pennsylvania's third most visited state park.
It's a great place to enjoy the many outdoor activities in the area like movie night, and take in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the state.
4. Choice Camping Court
Harold and Doris Wertz had the idea to build Choice Camping Court, a modest 10-site campground situated on their family's farm, in 1969.
For forty years, they cheerfully and humorously oversaw the campground every day.
Dorie was the most charming person you've ever met, and Harold was the biggest joker! Harold was a retired USPS employee, and Doris participated in the Military Mothers.
We are grateful for everything that military men and women do for our nation even though they are still owned and operated.
Troy and Charles (Chip) Wertz are the owners and operators of the campground, which currently has 220 sites.
Tent, water/electric, and full hookup campsites are available at the campground. On a hot day, the *** river provides lots of fantastic options for rafting or fishing.
This campground honors the tradition of traditional camping, which entails spending time with family over a campfire.

5. Cowans Gap State Park
Another beautiful campground is Cowans Gap State Park. During the French and Indian War, a route was constructed via Cowans crevice, a crevice in the mountains, to supply the colonies that once made up the western frontier of the original thirteen.
This area saw a massive reforestation project during the Great Depression, and Little Aughwick Creek was dammed to create Cowans Gap Lake.
The most popular activities in Cowans Gap State Park include hiking, boating, fishing, and hunting. The campsite can accommodate campers in everything from tents to huge RVs.
6. Wheel-In Campground
Wheel-In is a family-friendly campsite ideal for RV and tent camping, situated in a serene rural area. This is a verdant park with spaces that are perpendicular to the road on the inside and back-ins on the outside.
There's a lovely pavilion with a kitchen and a picnic table below it on the inner lawn. A Dutch oven club event or RV club would be perfect at our park.
There's a paddle boat pond in our park as well. There's something enjoyable to do every weekend for everyone, young and old!

7. Lake Raystown Resort
Another perfect spot is Lake Raystown Resort. Situated 35 miles southwest of Altoona in the Raystown Lake Recreation Area, Lake Raystown Resort is a lodge and convention center.
The resort offers fully-equipped RV and tent campgrounds with cable TV and Wi-Fi, in addition to lakefront villas, camping cottages, and yurt rentals. The resort offers miles of hiking and bike paths (biking trails), a pool, a waterpark, and a restaurant on the lake with numerous outdoor activities at a local amusement parks.
8. Black Moshannon State Park
Approximately 45 miles north of Altoona, Black Moshannon State Park is a great campground that preserves the wetlands and woodlands that encircle Black Moshannon Lake.
There are almost 200 different types of birds that have been observed in the park's bogs, marshlands, and swamps, which offer migratory birds an amazing habitat.
A vast network of hiking and bike paths can be found in the park, and full hook-ups campsites and cabin rentals are offered at the campground for friendly camping with an excellent visitor's guide.
9. Don Huey Country Campground
Don Huey Campground is a nice place and the only option if you are seeking for a campground with loads to offer. Situated just one mile from Indiana, Pennsylvania's downtown, you'll have easy access to all the local eateries and attractions.

10. Blue Knob State Park
A year-round recreational area, Blue Knob State Park is situated thirty minutes southwest of Altoona. The second-highest point in the state, Blue Knob, is a dome-shaped peak that inspired the park's name.
The mountain boasts eighteen miles of hiking paths that lead to a number of picturesque vistas and a ski area located on the northern slope.
The campground offers convenient access to hiking trails, a dog walking area, and power hookups. Cabin rentals are also offered.

12. Friendship Village Campground and RV Park
Friendship Village Campground and RV Park, located 40 miles south of Altoona in Bedford County, is a family-friendly campground with more than 300 campsites.
Big rigs with several slideouts are welcome here, and you may choose between shady or sunny sites.
A number of hookups are available, including cable TV, and there are two pools, a miniature golf course, and several playgrounds to keep children entertained.
One of the top-ranked Good Sam RV Parks in Altoona, Pennsylvania is Friendship Village. The park receives an almost flawless score of 9/10/10 according to the rating system. There are 180 shaded and unshaded campsites at the park, and pets are welcome.
