1. Letchworth Valley Campground
This beautiful park is known as the "Grand Canyon of the East," Letchworth State Park is among the most breathtakingly beautiful places in the east of the United States.
The Genesee River thunders through the canyon, cascading over three large waterfalls in between lush trees and cliffs that reach heights of up to 600 feet in certain areas.
There are 66 miles of hiking routes to select from. Within the camping area, there are also cross-country ski trails, gorge trail, biking, horseback riding, and snowmobile routes.
Letchworth provides programs on the natural world, history, and performing arts in addition to tours, guided walks, a summer lecture series, whitewater rafting, kayaking, swimming pools, and hot air balloon rides.
As this video clip demonstrates, visiting Letchworth via hot air balloon is a wonderful experience. Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snow tubing are winter sports.
Wiscoy Creek, which is well-known for its trout fishing, traverses a section of the land. In an entirely natural environment, you can go swimming, fishing, hiking, and canoeing.

2. Hamlin Beach State Park
The 1,287-acre (5.21 km2) state park known as Hamlin Beach State Park is situated in the Town of Hamlin in Monroe County, New York, in the United States, along the shore of Lake Ontario. Through the park is the Lake Ontario State Parkway.
In 1929, Hamlin Beach was made into a park after Monroe County paid $169,373 for the purchase of 597 acres (2.42 km2).
Originally named Northwest Beach Park, the park encompassed the surrounding farms and the former Charles Wolf property. In 1930, the park was renamed Hamlin Beach Park.
3. Darien Lakes State Park

With very little development, the 1,303-acre Ossian State Forest offers a wilderness experience.
This lush forests borders a portion of Allegany County forest holdings as well as the Rattlesnake Hill State Wildlife Management Area across a considerable distance. The ultimate backwoods adventure—best left to the most seasoned campers!
In the Ossian State Forest, tent camping is permitted only at large; specific campsites are not available. Simply maintain a minimum of 150 feet between your campground and any roadways or bodies of water.
Although there are no official hiking trails, there are great, well-marked exploring paths along the logging roads.
This is a productive wood that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation manages for timber and recreational purposes.
Locating Ossian State Forest may seem difficult, similar to that of Sonyea State Forest. To get to the hamlet of Ossian, travel west on Ossian Hill Road from State Route 436, close to the Village of Dansville.
Proceed on Linzy Road westward. Take Scoville Road to the south. You know you've entered a state forest when you see the medallions marking the land.

A quick 15-minute drive gets you to Sonyea State Forest, a 922-acre forest with multiple waterfalls and deep gorge walls resembling canyons, which is the North entrance to Letchworth State Park in Mount Morris.
The forest provides year-round direct access to a variety of activities, such as hiking, biking, hunting, and trapping, and a portion of the Genesee Valley Greenway State Park that runs through the forest.
